Spring Updates and Fall Planning

Our planned trips to Daytona and Laughlin went well this year. Hope everyone got some enjoyment from these trips. We were unable to do Arizona Bike Week as there was very little interest this year. We will give it a try again next year, however.

We are in the planning stages for a late summer or early fall West coast trip depending on amount of interest. The late summer trip could be to either Seattle or Reno. People could choose to even ride back from these locations if they would like. The early fall trip would more than likely be Reno as Seattle and a ride up into BC might be a little too cool at that time of year. We have done Reno before during the 3rd week of September and have been met with great weather for the past 3 years. There is so much to ride and see in that part of the country.

Airfare seems to be climbing up like everything these days. Reno and Seattle round trip were right up there around $450 the last I checked. I was disappointed to see that Northwest t fly non-stop from Mpls to Reno as in the past. Las Vegas still seems to have reasonable airfare into there if we would want to choose that location as an alternative. Bike transport cost is directly tied to diesel fuel price. Where the cost of a gallon of diesel is going to be this fall is s guess. This spring, the trip cost was $425, which was based on $4/gal fuel. If fuel gets to $5/gal or more, trip cost might approach $475. If there is a reduction in fuel price, which is probably highly unlikely, trip cost would be reduced accordingly.

This is what we are offering for trips this fall and if you have any other choices of locations you might prefer, let us know. As mentioned, we are in the planning stages and welcome ideas from anyone.
